We're getting lots of rain here in Kauai.  Hopefully it will let up long enough on New Years that we can set off some fireworks.

I grew up in Clearwater FL and their always was quite an influx of northerners starting in November. Was a pretty small town when I was a kid, now pinellas county is nothing but houses and parking lots.
Is  a pretty nice area to live if you can afford it.
What's interesting is when I was a kid we used to get a relatively hard freeze every third year or so. It was right on that line. So you could grow tropical plants and every third year or so you had to cover them. I think the last freeze like this was in 1985 or 6. Can't remember it's been so long. Just a little anecdotal evidence supporting global warming.

Always wondered how plant's knew what to do in a climate where it's roughly the same temperture year round. I guess the contrast is enough to where they know what to do.

I do have some good pictures, I'm not sure which cd their on. I'll look and see if I can't find them. It is very pretty up their in the mountains in october when the leaves change.

 

Sounds great.  I've never been to NC.  You should put up some pictures so I can see it.

 

I know the feeling, but you only do it once a year so what the heck.
